The presidential ambition of the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has been endorsed by Ebonyi monarchs.
The monarchs relayed their endorsement for Tinubu through the Chairman of the Ebonyi Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Charles Mkpuma.
Mkpuma revealed the mind of the monarchs during a town hall meeting on Wednesday night with Tinubu at the new Ebonyi State Executive Chambers, Ochudo Centenary City, Abakaliki.
The monarchs on Wednesday urged Tinubu to zone the office of the Senate President to Ebonyi if he emerges President.
HausaToday had earlier reported that the former Governor of Lagos State is in the state for his presidential campaign today (Thursday).
Mkpuma wished Tinubu success in his presidential ambition, adding that he had the support of the people.
He said, “We congratulate our incoming President, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu for your success in the just concluded Presidential Primary, our people are happy with you that you are here to see us even though we had resolved to support you and other Candidates of APC.”
Tinubu while addressing stakeholders, charged the South-East to strengthen the bond between them and South West by supporting his ambition.
The presidential candidate further stated that the people would be carried along in his administration if elected.
Tinubu on Wednesday commended the state Governor, David Umahi for his giant infrastructural strides in Ebonyi State.
The former Governor of Lagos State appreciated Umahi and the APC governorship candidate, Francis Nwifuru for their support of his candidacy and assured him that he would repay their solidarity.
He said, “You can be an Engineer ten times over but if don’t love your people, you may not develop your house not to talk of the State.
“When we entered this Executive Council Chambers, one would think we are in the United Nations, this is a product of intelligence and ingenuity.”
Umahi lauded President Muhammadu Buhari and Tinubu for their support of Ebonyi State.
The monarchs on Wednesday also conferred on Tinubu the chieftaincy title of Dike Dị Ọra Nma, which means a hero that is loved by the people.
They said the title was to buttress Tinubu’s acceptability by the State, including the traditional institution.
