Zamfara state Governor, Bello Mohammed, has approved the dissolution of the 14 Local Government Councils Sole Administrators in the state with effect from Friday 4th June 2021.
This was announced by the Govenor through a press release signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government Abubakar Jafar Maradun on Friday.
According to the release: “the dissolution of the local Government Councils Sole Administrators followed the expiration of their tenure elongation period of six months as earlier approved by Zamfara State House of Assembly which expired on Friday 4th June 2021.
“In view of this, the outgoing local Government Councils Sole Administrators have been directed to hand over the Affairs of their Local Government Councils to their respective Directors of Administration and General Services with immediate effect.
“His Excellency, Governor Bello Matawalle thanked the outgoing local Government Councils Sole Administrators for their services to the State and wished them success in their future endeavours.”
The dissolution is seen yet again, by some, as a calculation by the Governor to finalise his defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC, something that is being rumoured to happen anytime in June.
