The PUNCH: Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Wednesday, said he was frustrated and helpless, adding that the military knew the location of the bandits wreaking havoc in the state, but was refusing to bomb their hideouts.


The Guardian: Despite several signs that the Abuja-Kaduna railway was susceptible to bandits attack and amid massive resources in loans and funds voted to revamp rail transportation across the country, the Federal Government failed to adequately protect passengers until Monday’s attack.


The Nation: The terrorists who attacked a Kaduna-bound train and abducted unspecified number of passengers on Monday, have contacted their families. They are yet to demand ransom, the families said yesterday.


Daily Trust: The Monday night attack on a Kaduna-bound passenger train arriving from Abuja came after repeated warnings by the intelligence service about the movement of bandits with a mission to attack the train service and other facilities.


Daily Independent: The government of the United Kingdom has warned against travel to seven states in Northern Nigeria, citing recent terrorists attack on a Kaduna-bound train.
